Yener

Yener is 12 years old and is in fourth grade. This is his fourth year at Chispas of Change. Yener is hard of hearing and receives special classes in Guatemalan Sign Language with his teacher, Ms. Paola. Yener’s favorite part of Chispas is math class. He also likes to play with his friends during recess.

Yener lives with his mother, father, brother, sister, and five dogs. After school, he likes to play soccer with his brother, Yamel. On the weekends, he likes to go to church with his family. Yener’s favorite foods are pizza and hot dogs.

Yener wants to be a police officer when he grows up so that he can catch robbers. This year, he wants to learn how to play basketball, understand Spanish grammar better, and climb the Agua Volcano again. He climbed up to the crater of the volcano with his teachers and classmates in November!
